I don't get it

I read about this on one of the music related message boards that I visit. Again I am shocked. Apparently tomorrow the Netherlands will have a new political party - the NVD (charity, freedom, diversity). So far nothing special.

But whats on their agenda? Well:
  • Age limit minimum 16y/o people to have sexual contacts should be abolished
  • 12 year olds and older may act in pornographic productions
  • Posession of child pornography should be legalised
What to think of that? Obviously such a party doesn't stand a chance to be elected and I don't want to discuss the points on their agenda but this raises again some interesting questions. Freedom of opinion and expression? How far does it go? What about some basics of democracy? Political representation for everyone for instance. People with "beliefs" like these try to participate on the political scene. Why? What makes a human raise his voice? Do humans raise their voices when they think that they will be supported? What makes them think that they will be supported? What have the values of eternal beauty and youth transmitted by the media have to do with this? What the hell is happening?...

Here's the article. I would be glad if somebody could translate it.

Random post pt. II

The sun is shining but it's cold. What is really frustrating is that it is currently 30°C on the Black Sea coast...

I am sitting at home reading some papers about the prisoners Dilemma. Again. Have to write an essay about that. Again. I'm already late because I should have started writing yesterday. My motivation is pretty low. It's one of those cycles. Again.

I will present the LC Budget for 06-07 next monday. We were working on that last wednesday. It's funny. We were working hard and spend a couple of hours on it. When it was done I had the feeling "Wow! Finally! It's looking good!". But when I compared it to the budget of the last year it looked frighteningly similar. Even the overall total was almost the same...

What's on tonight? Karting with my fraternity! Looking forward to it because I haven't done it since two years. And I am glad to see my friends from the fraternity because this is one of the many things that I neglect lately.

Anyway. In order to make this post a bit less boring I'm sharing the music that I am currently digging with you: check out A-KO and download his tracks from his myspace site. This boy knows his records. "Soul'69" is on repeat this morning here.

PS: Compare the mood in random post I and random post II. This is cheering me up. :) How can my mood be so completely different without any particular reason? Conclusion: Moods are irrelevant.

We call it life...

It has been some time since the last post. What has happened? I'll start in reverse chronological order:

First: This weekend there was a TtT (train the trainer) in Bern. I had no time to participate myself but on Friday eve I just quickly met all the delegates. Lots of cool people. I hope that next time I will have more time so that I can attend the seminar. It's no fun to see that everybody is preparing for some intense learning and good times when you for your part have a weekend in the library ahead of you.
Anyway. I had some intense learning too. Just about stuff that is not exciting. :)

Second: Last week I saw this "wonderfull" TV adds from the US. I swear I have never seen something more stupid and I still can't believe it's not a fraud. They seem to be on air since one week. One more week to go. I am not telling you what they are about so that you check them for yourself. Just a hint: It's about pollution.

Last but not least: if you read this blog carefully you would know that last week there was CK's and Dhruvs party in Bern. I owe you some pics. It was a great evening. No need for more words. It's just funny how you party with some people and just a few days later they are gone miles away. It takes time to realise. Enough of that. Here are the pics:

Random post pt. I

What's a "random post"? Witness the birth of a new and groundbraking series of completely out of topic posts. These will be thoughts out of context jumping through my head while i'm online and probably should be doing something more usefull.

So this is the first part of the series which I am sharing with you. Sharing is caring right?

Here you go:

Next monday we will have a shared LCM with LC Fribourg. This is gonna be cool. And in the near future our EB will probably visit the chicks from Geneva. I feel strangely excited about these two visits. Don't ask me why.

Another thing. My brother had this cool idea yesterday about starting a little website. It will be a service for universities all over Switzerland and could become really really usefull if it's well done. I am already thinking about fundraising and about people I could contact to help us pull this thing of although there is just an idea so far and no clear concept whatsoever.

Anyway. Back to the book that I should read till tomorrow so that I don't look like a complete idiot in class. :)

Back to reality

So after my sleepy day in the office yesterday today i'm finally back in real life. University life is going brutally fast. No time to take a breath. I'm kinda glad because otherwise i would just think about all my "great" ideas after KickOff but never get started.

I am eager to finally start this new term. My motivation is boosted. I hope that i can keep this feeling. I think i can. My perception of reality is what is killing my motivation. Once you are aware of the fact that "there is no spoon" and that your reality is just your perception of something you will be able to change it.
Choose your attitude, innit?

So what has to be done @-wise this week?
  • EBM to finalize the yearplan.
  • Call Ernst and Young and finalize the first outstanding audit
  • Send in the second outstanding audit
  • Pay the big pile of bills from CareerDays
  • Prepare books for internal audit
  • Discuss with EB mates how to start with issue based activities

Hm... this is what it looks like till now. I'm sure that other things will emerge, but hey! Bring it on!

Ah and yes: i have to write to all of the wonderfull people who wrote me sugercubes. Reading sugarcubes rules! I love you all! :)

Spring Into Action

Since my site (www.soundwasta.com) is just about my music I decided to finally get a real blog. This is just for and about me.
Funny. Maybe this blog was born just because of the fact that I just returned from KickOff'06. Currently I'm at the office where I work but I can't focus at all. My head is just full with impressions from the last four days. It is full with faces, names, ideas, sounds, voices.

This was not my first conference so I know that this is not just the normal excitement that I'm feeling. There was just something special which is hard to put into words but something that every single person felt. I guess its EXCELLENCE. Everybody just performed excellent.

So thank you OC and MC for making this possible. And thank you dear home LC for bringing back my optimism.
